Square Root of Negative Number Online Tutoring
Square Root of Negative Number Online Tutoring Square root of a number is written under the square root radical symbol and the numbers inside the square root should be greater than or equal to 0 to get a real solution. But if a negative number is inside the square root, then the solution is known ias an imaginary solution and it is written in terms of i. Square root of -1 is equal to i and it represented as i = -1. Therefore square root of negative numbers gives imaginary solutions. Example 1: What is the value of the expression, (-4)? (-4i) can be split further in order to simplify the expression. This implies that (-4) = 4 * -1 Here, 4 can be written as 4 = (2 * 2) = 2 Therefore, 4 = 2 and this gives -4 = 4 * -1 == -4 = 2 * -1. And -1 is equal to i ==-4 = 2 * -1 = 2 * i Hence the value of the expression, (-4) = 2i Example 2: What is the value of the expression, -27? (-27) can be split further in order to simplify the expression. This implies that (-27) = 27 * -1 Here, 27 can be written as 27 = (3* 3 * 3) = 33. Therefore, 27 = 33 and this gives -27 = 27* -1 == -27 = 33* -1. And -1 is equal to i == -27= 33 * -1 = 33 * i Hence the value of the expression, (-27) = 3i3.

Nucleus
Nucleus Nucleus: Nucleus in biology can be very well defined as a dense organelle present in most eukaryotic cells, typically a single rounded structure bounded by a double membrane, containing the genetic material. Nucleus can also be defined as a specialized, usually spherical mass of protoplasm encased in a double membrane, and found in most living eukaryotic cells, directing their growth, metabolism, and reproduction, and functioning in the transmission of genic characters. What is a Nucleus ? The nucleus is the controlling center of eukaryotic cell. It contains most of the genetic materials of the cell. It was first observed by Antonie von Leeuvenhoek in the lumen of RBCs and was named in the year 1833 by Robert brown who discovered it in plant cells. Structure of Nucleus: Nuclear Envelope: The nuclear envelope consists of two concentric membranes called the inner and outer membranes. The outer membrane is continuous with ER. In contrast the inner membrane carries unique proteins that are specific to the nucleus. A network of intermediate filaments present on the nuclear side of the inner membrane is known as nuclear lamina which is made up of lamin proteins providing mechanical support to the nucleus. Nuclear pores: The nuclear envelope contains nuclear pores for transport of macromolecules between cytoplasm and nucleus. Each nuclear pore is formed from an elaborate structure called nuclear pore complex. The proteins that make up the nuclear pore complex are known as nucleoporins. Nucleolar-organizing region (NORs): The nucleolus organizing region is a region of chromosome around which the nucleolus forms. In the human, the five chromosomes contain NORs, which can be identified as secondary constrictions on metaphase chromosomes. The position of secondary constriction in a chromosome is specific and species specific. As compared to secondary constrictions, the primary constrictions also called as centromere, attaches sister chromatids together. Chromosomes and chromatin: A chromatin is an organized structure of DNA and protein that is found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. It contains a single dsDNA in coiled and condensed form. The basic difference between chromatin and chromosomes is that chromatin is less condensed and extended DNA while chromosomes are highly condensed DNA. The extent of chromatin condensation varies during the life cycle of the cell. In non-dividing as well as interphase stages of cell, most of the chromatin remain relatively de-condensed. The light staining, less condensed portions of chromatin are termed as euchromatin. This region is transcriptionally active and contains most of the transcribing genes. The darkly stained and highly condensed region of chromatin is termed as heterochromatin. This region is transcriptionally inactive. img alt=chromosomes and chromatin data-cke-saved-src=http://images.tutorpace.com/biology/nucleus_5.jpg src=http://images.tutorpace.com/biology/nucleus_5.jpg 518px;= height:= 254px;= Centromere: The constricted region of linear chromosomes is known as the centromere. Although this constriction is called the centromere, it is usually not located exactly in the center of the chromosome and, in some cases, is located almost at the chromosomes end. Telomere: Telomeres are specialized structures, which cap the ends of eukaryotic chromosomes. It consists of a long array of short, tandemly repeated sequences. Origin of Replication: The origin of replication is a particular sequence in a chromosome at which replication is initiated. One chromosome contains multiple origins of replication. Chromosome number: All eukaryotic cells have multiple linear chromosomes. Every cell maintains a characteristic number of chromosomes. Depending upon the eukaryotic organism, the number of chromosomes varies from 2 to several hundreds. Chromosome number in different eukaryotic organisms: Species Haploid number of chromosomes Saccharomyces cerevisiae 16 Arabidopsis thaliana 06 Drosophila thaliana 04 Mus musculus 19 +X and Y Homo sapiens 22 + X and Y Functions of Nucleus: It is the prime control center of cellular activities. It controls the enzymatic activities. It controls the process of synthesizing proteins. It regulates the hereditary characteristics of an individual It participates in the process of cell division, differentiation and growth of cell. It controls the reliability of genes and its expression. Helps in the transport of RNA and DNA across the cell. Nucleolus is called ribosomal factory of the cell. Transcription takes place in nucleus.
Understanding Algebra
Understanding Algebra Algebra is one of the most important topics in Mathematics and it covers a huge range of important sub-topics which are very much necessary to understand the higher concepts of the subject. Algebra covering basics of math is known as Elementary algebra and understanding this portion is very important in order to do well in the other parts of math. Understanding algebra is the first step in understanding math as algebra starts from basic topics such as finding LCM and GCF of numbers, solving equations, absolute value of numbers etc. Example 1: Solve the given absolute value equation, |x 4| = 10. Given absolute value equation: |x 4| = 10. Since absolute value means distance of a number from 0, it is always positive. Hence the above equation splits into two ways: They are (x 4)= 10 and - (x 4)= 10- (x 4)= -10. Solve (x- 4)= 10 - x= 10+ 4 - x= 14 Solve (x 4)= -10 - x= -10+ 4 - x= -6. Hence we get: x = 14 and x = -6. Example 2: Find the midpoint between the two points (3, 4) and (5, 6). Given two points: (3, 4) and (5, 6). To calculate the midpoint betweenthe two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), we use the midpoint formula, given as: Midpoint = [(x1 + x2)/ 2, (y1 + y2)/2] Applying the above midpoint formula for the given two points, we get: Midpoint = [(3 + 5)/2, (4 + 6)/2] = (8/2, 10/2) = (4, 5). Therefore midpoint between the two points is (4, 5).

How to Create an SAT Prep Plan
How to Create an SAT Prep Plan If youve recently signed up for the SAT, youre probably beginning to think about preparation. While students often allot different amounts of time for this process, it is important to have a plan in place thats right for you. For some students, this means a year of preparation; for others, a few months. No matter which category you find yourself in, it is important that you develop a plan that will maximize your time and your score. The first step of preparation is simply to know how youre going to approach your study sessions. Create an SAT prep plan with these tips: Establish a timeline Before you can effectively plan your study time, you need to know exactly how much of it is available. If youve got a year until the test, youll study differently than if youre taking the test in two months. Know your test date and time frame. Youll also need to know how long you can study per week, day, etc. Plan for study sessions of varying length, but be honest with yourself about the amount of time you can actually contribute to SAT studying when taking into account your other ongoing commitments, such as extracurriculars, homework, a part-time job, etc. During this timeframe, youll also want to set some personal goals for the SAT. If you plan to study as a group with others, establish some group goals as well. Explore the test Its hard to study for a test you arent familiar with, so take this opportunity to open up the test and explore. Figure out the logistics (time requirements, tools youre allowed to have, etc.) and learn how the test is portioned out. Also note new changes to the SATs format, such as the elimination of the guessing penalty. Next, youll want to look at the actual questions. Begin by taking a quick sample of questions from different areas can you answer them? Eventually, youll want to take a practice test to identify areas of weakness. Focus your efforts After youve taken a practice SAT, you should be able to identify areas of possible weakness. Youll be able to see where you score well too, which tells you where to focus less of your efforts. Take a practice test a few times to make sure your results are accurate and consistent then, start studying. By now, youll know where you need more work, so begin there. Plan to focus the majority of your time in areas where you scored lower so you can improve your results. However, dont forget about the areas you do well in! These high scores can help boost your overall results, and you dont want to be rusty come test time. Consider using a prep book to guide your study experience as well for instance, you could directly review lessons on the reading section if you want to refine your skills there, or take a look at some math tips to refresh your mind on that area. Review test questions After youve taken a practice test, it can be helpful to meet with an SAT tutor to review the questions you got wrong and areas you continue to struggle with. A tutor can help clarify why you may be answering these incorrectly and shed light on the spots that are tripping you up. After going through the questions that provided trouble, take more practice tests until youre confident you have a better understanding of them. If studying with a group, it can be helpful to show up with a few sample questions that youve come up with this will diversify the questions youre exploring and broaden your knowledge base. Compare your scores It will be important that you track your progress as you continue to prep for the SAT. A great way to do this is not only by taking the practice tests, but by monitoring your scores each time as well. Are you consistent in subject areas of strength and weakness? Are your scores getting better? Knowing this will allow you to make adjustments to your SAT prep plan as needed. If your scores arent improving, youll need to allot more time to a certain subject area or change the way youre approaching it. A change in routine can make a world of difference. Approach the test with confidence Confident students tend to do better on tests, and this is especially true for long exams like the SAT. If you approach the test with confidence, your score could show it! To build yourself up, come prepared. By following an SAT prep plan, youll approach the exam with the knowledge and skills necessary to get the score you hope for. You may also want to practice driving to the test site and even take a practice test there if youre able these small gestures can make you feel at ease when the actual day comes, resulting in a test score that reflects all of your hard work. You need to answer all questions in just 35 minutes. That gives you nearly one minute for two questions, considering youâll utilize some time in reading the passages too. Tutor Paceâs ACT reading experts suggest sticking to one strategy throughout. This will help you manage your time better in the section. Donât rush through reading the passages. That wonât do any good. Instead, you will end up re-reading the passages, thus wasting a lot of time. Our ACT reading tutors recommend you to time yourself while reading. You can do this in your practice tests. Start by allotting four minutes to each passage. That totals 16 minutes for reading all the four passages. Then, you are left with 19 minutes to answer the questions. First go for this strategy and see what the output is. Over the time, you can practice speed-reading and can try reading a passage in just 3 minutes. This way, youâll have more time to work on the questions. Donât stress out on reading the passages too fast. That would only eat up your time. Always try to spare that one last minute for marking all the left answers. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers, right? So, donât leave any question. Mark all of them. According to our ACT reading experts, a student should first pick the right passage for reading. The ACT reading section tests your understanding in different fields like natural sciences, social sciences, prose, fiction, and humanities etc. So, it is important to pick the most comfortable topic first. Scan the passages in one-go quickly and pick the most comfortable one. ACT reading requires you to have good functional vocabulary. Try to find the contextual meaning of any new word that you come across. Youâll expand your vocabulary this way. The ACT reading section requires you to be well read. The section throws different types of text at you. To understand these texts well, read as much as you can. Begin by reading quality material for example, New Yorker magazine or novels by Kazuo Ishiguro, Tom Sharpe, and many others. Enjoying whatever you read and spare at least an hour for reading daily. ACT mathematics: What strategies our ACT mathematics tutors have come up with? Time and again, our tutors have come up with new techniques and strategies for maximizing our studentsâ scores. This time, our ACT mathematics experts have come up with great math strategies. You can follow these strategies to get high ACT mathematics score: #Target your potential score Aim for hitting a specific score in the ACT mathematics section. You will get more focused toward your ACT test prep with it. Work on new tricks and shortcuts thatâll let you solve the questions quickly and easily. If youâre counting on math, youâll have to solve maximum possible questions. An average score of 23 wonât be good enough for you. However, if youâre counting on other subjects, a score of 23 will be good. Know what you want beforehand. #Lessen the usage of calculator ACT mathematics tests your basic arithmetic skills of multiplying, adding, dividing, and subtracting by means of calculations. So, train your brain to do such simple calculations. Donât rely too much upon your calculator. Moving fingers through calculatorâs buttons does take time. If, by any chance, you hit a wrong button, you will end up wasting more time. #Trap those soft targets The ACT mathematics section consists of all levels of questions. Find and solve the questions that look the simplest to you in first-go. As you move further, the difficulty level increases. So, it is important to solve maximum questions that appear earlier. Needless to mention, it should be done as quickly as possible. #Mark your answers carefully Often, students write full solutions only to mark incorrect answers at the end. This happens because students get overwhelmed with the answer options. Often, one of your solution values (not the final answer) is present as an option in the paper. On seeing the option, students get too excited and mark the value as their answer. This way, a correct response becomes an incorrect one. Beware of situations like these. They eat your ACT mathematics score. These strategies can work only when you have great subject knowledge in the first place. Firstly, work on your subject knowledge and then, utilize these strategies to get the most out of your efforts. Get Tutor Paceâs 24/7 ACT test prep right now!
